From the Principal

Welcome to A. J. Lewis Greenview Elementary School. Our total school population includes children from Pre-kindergarten through grade five. Academic excellence is our number one goal. We live by our motto: "Where Excellence Is Expected". Mrs. Delores Gilliard has been the principal of A. J. Lewis Greenview Elementary School since 1996. She comes to the school with a Masters Plus 30 with certification in elementary education, reading, and elementary administration. She has been a classroom teacher, and assistant principal, and curriculum resource teacher. Mrs. Gilliard has taught curriculum on the college level.
She is married to Robert L. Gilliard. They have two married sons and four grandchildren. The family attends St. Martin de Porres Church in Columbia. Mrs. Gilliard believes that educational excellence will enable people to lead an intelligent life. Mastery of reading, writing, math, social sciences are essential in accomplishing this goal at Lewis Greenview Elementary. In addition, educational excellence produces children who are creative thinkers, responsible, and caring citizens.
We welcome and encourage the support of our parents in all academic and extra-curricular activities at Lewis Greenview. At Lewis Greenview Elementary, we believe in and support parents as their children's first teachers.
